The
activities of Milano Ricerche are
designed to
turn the specific needs and the core competencies of industrial
companies and SMEs into research projects which are eligible to be
funded at regional, national or EC level and which will result into
increased competitiveness for all partners. The close cooperation with
the Academics allows both to focus internationally recognised
scientific competencies over company matters, and to exploit
the
brightest graduates through their participation to research activities.
Milano
Ricerche by its close bonds with the associated Companies and
Universities, has acquired strong competencies in the following areas:

Competencies |
| Information Technologies | A
core competence of Milano Ricerche is Data, Web and Text Mining. A
leading edge Software platform, BAYES (Bayesian AnalYsis &
Evidence
Sampling), has been developed since 2001 leading to a set of
computational
libraries.
This approch is being focused on Vertical
applications for Customer Relationship Management and Recommend Systems
in the WebSmart project and on supply chain management in the
SFIDA project. These proprietary software components had put using in
the area of Video Surveillance working for Comerson
S.r.l., former
member of Milano Ricerche, in the 3 D project. And in the area of e-businness
working
with another
member TXT e-solutions S.p.A. in e-Relation HUB project.
Milano Ricerche is active in machine learning
methods for knowledge
management, e.g. WISPER project, customer
profiling and
business proactive multi-agent systems. Another competence of Milano
Ricerche is in numerical optimization, a number of applications as well
as a new business model like Applications Service Provider (ASP) was
tested in OSP an European project. In these projects Milano
Ricerche had a strong cooperation with the Dept. of Informatics of the University of Milano Bicocca, as well as in ATELIER (Architecture and Technologies for Inspiration
Learning Envronments) project. | | |
| Life Sciences |
In
this sector of activities Milano Ricerche has two main competences. Information
and Statistics to support clinical trials and
observational studies including Adverse Drug Reactions.
and Computational
Methods for Rational Drug Design: in this area Milano
Ricerche toghether
with Università di Milano Bicocca UNIMIB hold a patent DELOS
(Discovery and Lead Optimization
System).
Morevoer, our project BIOBRESSO
'Sperimentazione di un modello consortile tra
Università di
Milano-Bicocca, PMI Biofarmaceutiche, Enti locali ed ospedalieri'
permitted the implementation of IT platforms for the development of
both new drugs and diagnosys, within Regione Lombardia. |

| Energy
and Environment |
A traditional core competence is the
analysis of
industrial process,
the development of Clean technologies and the Life Cycle
Assessment
(LCA) of manufactured products. This activity
has
been performed in two
Italian projects, METALL and ECOZINC, an European project. Environmental
remediation is the other
core activitiy of Milano Ricerche including the design of specific
molecules to degrade hazardous substances. In this case Milano Ricerche used the system, IPRITE, patented in close cooperation with Università di Milano and Università di Milano-Bicocca. |

| Material Sciences |
Gas
Sensors have always been a core competence of Milano Ricerche in this
area. Innovative sensors had developed in EUCLID project in cooperation
with STMicroeletronics. Sensor
Networks are now receving increasing
attention: Milano Ricerche will leverage its experience in Data Fusion
and Integration towards Wireless Mobile Sensor Network for
Environmental and Security Applications.
Sensor array are now being
prototyped in order the increase accuracy and selectivity along with a
proprietary software, based on hard components of Bayes. An optimization
based computational procedure on DELOS is
being used to design at the
molecules level the most suitable substrate. |
